| Transport Information: | Deliver to lab immediately at room temperature. All specimens must be signed into the laboratory. |
| Reference Client: | If unable to deliver to lab immediately, store and transport at 2-8° C. Specimen must be received in lab within 24 hours. |

| | Patients with cystic fibrosis are likely to harbor mucoid and dry strains of Pseudomonas, and Burkholderia cepacia. Selective media is used and susceptibilities performed do not always work on the automated system. The laboratory will perform manual Kirby-Bauer susceptibilities if they fail using the automated system. |
